GIRISH ADANNARVAR
BIOGRAPHY
Girish K. Adannavar, born in 1973 in Nipani, Belgaum, Karnataka, is a renowned contemporary visual artist in India. His paintings, mostly created with acrylic, depict human figures, with a focus on Indian rural culture and young people in traditional attire, engaged in their daily lives. Adannavar’s vibrant color palette, unique style and original themes have made him a sought-after artist both nationally and internationally, with collectors and art lovers from countries such as the US, UK, Germany, France, and Singapore.
Adannavar has held numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout his career, showcasing his work in prestigious galleries and institutions such as The Renaissance Gallery in Pune, Chitrakala Parishad in Bangalore, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, and the Indian Embassy in Maryland (USA). He has also participated in several art workshops, including a residential workshop in NOIDA (UP) in 2018 and workshops in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Singapore.
Adannavar has received recognition for his talent through several awards, including the Dakshin Maharashtra Sahitya Sammelan in 2008, The Art Society in Ichalkaranji in 2005, and the Rotary International in Karnataka in 2002. His paintings are part of private and government collections in India and abroad and have been acquired by notable individuals such as Tabla Maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, cricketer Greg Chappell, and Bollywood celebrities such as Shridevi and Boney Kapoor.
With his unwavering passion for art and creative expression, Girish K. Adannavar continues to create new works and explore new ideas, pushing the boundaries of contemporary Indian art and earning him a place as one of the most respected artists in the field.
